The Event You Don't Want to Miss

Tozetta gives a cyber security presentation at an event for entrepreneurs in the municipality of Wijk bij Duurstede.

Imagine this: you open your computer and discover your company website has been hacked. All your valuable data, customer information and online reputation are at stake. Unfortunately, this is the reality many businesses face today. Cybercriminals are becoming increasingly sophisticated, and entrepreneurs need to be able to defend themselves against this. That's why Platform Veilig Ondernemen, the municipality of Wijk bij Duurstede, and various entrepreneur associations have set up an event. The cyber event on the agenda is called: "Digitaal Veilig Ondernemen in Wijk bij Duurstede" (Digitally Safe Business in Wijk bij Duurstede), intended to give entrepreneurs insight into the risks that exist online.

An Invitation for All Entrepreneurs

The event is organized for all entrepreneurs from Wijk bij Duurstede, Cothen and Langbroek. As an entrepreneur, you can attend the event for free and learn about the dangers of the internet. The event takes place at Van Vliet Kastanjehout in Cothen. Doors open from 5:00 PM, the program includes a buffet at 6:00 PM, followed by the main program at 7:00 PM. Afterward, there's room to network during the networking drinks from 8:30 PM to 10:00 PM.

The Speakers at the Cyber Event

The evening will be hosted by (Cyber) Mayor Iris Meerts. She will introduce the evening after the buffet.

What really makes the event unique โ€” and something we at Tozetta are proud of โ€” is the presence of Ian van der Wurff. Tozetta's lead pentester will give a live demonstration of how cybercriminals operate. The demo will show how hackers with malicious intent try to find a way into your company network! It will paint a clear picture of how hackers look for weak spots and where they can break in. Finally, Merel Hurenkamp from Platform Veilig Ondernemen will share how we can arm ourselves against cybercrime.

The Difference Between (Ethical) Hacking and Cybercriminals

During the event, we don't just want to highlight the dangers of the internet, but also the distinction between (ethical) hackers and cybercriminals. Here are a few key points to keep in mind.

(Ethical) Hackers

(Ethical) hacking, also known as white hat hackers, refers to professional hackers who use their skills to thoroughly test and improve systems. Hackers often work on behalf of businesses to find and fix weak spots before malicious hackers can do so.

Cybercriminals

On the other hand, we have cybercriminals, also known as black hat hackers. They use their skills for harmful purposes, such as stealing data, financial fraud, and attacking systems with malicious intent.

During the event, we'll discuss the difference between these two groups in more detail, so you gain deeper insight into the world of hacking and cybercrime.

What to Expect During the Cyber Event

This won't be an ordinary evening. It will be an interactive and highly educational evening. You can expect:

  • Insight into how cybercriminals operate: Learn how hackers think and which techniques they use to break in.
  • Practical cyber security tips: Discover concrete steps you can take to protect your business against digital threats.
  • Networking: Build valuable connections with other entrepreneurs in the region.
